The obvious first question to ask any candidate is: "Why should I vote for you?"
And my answer is: "You shouldn't."
You should vote for yourself.
Nobody knows you better than you, so you're obviously the best choice for your vote.
You may not know this, but if you write in a candidate your vote may not be tabulated unless the candidate has registered in advance of the election.
In some jurisdictions your write-in vote may not be counted at all, period.
Not everyone wants to register as a candidate.
They may be shy, or ineligible, or just don't want to play the government's game by filling out one of their forms.
So for those folks, I'm making myself available as a reasonable second choice.
